"this hotel my husband and myself stayed quite often. at the moment it is very convenient for him because his mother quite ill and is in the Health Science Centre. they gave him a good rate because he was staying so long and did not know when he will be leaving. he loves the pool and hot tub which he needs to unwind in when he returns from the hospital. they are very good especially when you come by plane and they will send a car to pick you up which is great and if you are unable to take your luggage to your vehicle they are helpful there. keep up the good work. hope the hotel improves even more by redoing and keep up the service."

"First impressions are always important.
The front doors were battered and did not close properly.
The hotel is located next to a ?strip joint?(exotic dancer establistment).
The lobby entrance from the rear car park is dirty, graffiti on the steps, doors are battered.
The room carpets were dirty and stained.
The rooms and hallways were smelly
One of the beds had not had the bedding changed from the previous client.
The check in process got confused because one of the printers didn?t work, we were over charged but this was corrected when we checked out.
The shower curtain was dirty, stuck together with soap. Had not been changed for some time.
The breakfast was good, restaurant clean and well run.
We were in Winnipeg to attend a funeral, if we had been staying longer we would have moved to a better hotel.
This hotel is not up to the usual high standards of those I have stayed at in the USA.
I would not stay here again"

"For a Howard Johnson, I was expecting a nicer facility. The rooms were decent, but the lobby and lounge are in desparate need of some updating. The front desk people were not very professional. I didn't feel real comfortable with some of the people that were hanging around the hotel."

"Upon registering no directions were given on how to find the room.
The number 2 elevator door would not open at the second floor level and we were trapped in the elevator for approx 5 minutes, this was reported to the desk and no corrective was taken during our stay, and we are not sure if the problem was even noted.
The number 1 elevator had debris on the floor which remained there during our stay.
The opening from the elevator to the second floor had a pile of dirty dishes in the hallway, All day ,and weren't removed till after supper.
We inquired about parking ,as it was -40 C a plug in for the block heater was essential,we were told to go out and try to find one.
While I was doing this ,finding one at last, but beside this plug was an extension cord, totally destroyed with a Manitoba license plate entangled in it, Some one forgot to unplug and drove away, I took the cord and the plate to the front desk and it became obvious that I had to dispose of the cord ,which I did after locating a garbage bin. Also to this there was a full large green garbage bag against the building in front of the building where we were plugged in. The following morning in the vicinity of the main entrance were discarded empty beer bottles were strewn about.
The room info brochure indicated the restaurant would be open all day, much to our surprise it closed from 2 to 5 pm,and at supper that evening some of the menu items were not available, some ingredients were not available,or so we were told.
Also the bathroom had toweling supplies for only one person ,this made it difficult for 3 adults to have showers etc.
In the early morning hours the hallway became extremely noisy with yelling and pounding on nearby doors by some of the guests.
Another high noise level were the Semi-trailer tractor out the back of the hotel with the engines running all night,a relocation to another area would probably solve this as there would be no requirement to plug in.
The TV had cable connection before supper and after this there were only 12 .no local weather channel which had been on channel 50, during -40C this is an important part of the Vehicle travel information, all the Lobby TV's still had these cable channels, and do not understand why the rooms were disconnected.
The one good thing that happened,we received our wake up call on time.
I hope these comments are reviewed, and giving the staff the benefit of the doubt because of a Native Convention that weekend, but if asked about our stay I would have to say this would be our second, The first and last at this hotel.

"Everyone was very friendly. The hotel itself could use some work, maybe some new interior."
